A light in the dark
Take a good look around you!
Things will appear to you in a different way!
Mohamed Aljurf likes to take pictures of environments, buildings or streets, without including people in them. In this way, he learns himself to see more things around him. ‘At first, you are in the dark, but further, you see the light. It motivates, it explains itself: Some days I feel like I am living in the dark but there are always sunny moments in the future.’
Get lost in Leuven! By walking, seeing and hearing what’s around you:
‘Leuven feels like my city, I feel home and settled here and I enjoy discovering the city Leuven, while taking pictures with my phone camera: the small streets, the green parks, the meeting places, the nice spots, …’
Mohamed doesn’t wear headphones during sports (fitness), nor walks. ‘There is something like music in the street noises: children plays, people talks, birds sings,….’
Be Bold!
Be grateful: “It is all about FOCUS: Connect with the moment! Live the moment! ”
Sometimes an offline experience in better to enjoy the moment.
That is gratitude for Mohamed.

Good Morning World
Take a Moment to get stronger!
Safe your moments!
The moment of taking this picture was also the starting point of my training session,
so full of energy I said to myself: ‘Let’s do this!’
Mohamed Aljurf is working in shifts in the airport in Zaventem and tries to add sports in his daily schedule: ‘I enjoy working out in the fitness area in the early morning, around 6AM, when it’s nice and quit.’ He likes to start the day with fitness ‘Lifestyle’ (Mechelsestraat, Leuven) and swimming and afterwards he takes a moment to relax in the beautiful sauna. He spends two hours there. ‘I love it!’
Live will bring ups and downs for everyone. When Mohamed feels down, he will look for pictures which bring him hope and strength to start something new. ‘Pictures are useful to capture a moment in life, afterwards we can look back at them and regain that great feeling.’
Some pictures are personal, so – according to Mohamed – it would be good to have the option to collect several pictures and see your personal growth afterwards, or to share them with others, coaches, groups or individuals. ‘For the moment, I use whatsapp for close friends and messenger for all people in general. It encourages me in the moment that I can see that somebody can do something I can’t – to learn from it and try harder myself to achieve the same. It challenges me, it motivates me, so I would tell myself: I can do it!’
‘For many people in my country, Europe seems to be heaven because of what they are seeing of it. Although, they don’t always have the pictures which are representative to the location as a whole. Only the good parts are shown.’ For this reason, it is important for Mohamed to show the reality of the moment in a picture. Sometimes pictures of an end-result are shared, after 3 months of working out for example and other times it is important to show the process of hard work. A reality check!
‘It demanded a lot of my body, blood, sweat and tears, but now, after 3 months, I am proud of it.’
